Hi to all,
i have a Novation Impulse 61, and a M-audio 88Es.

when I connect them, they are recognized by the system, but in the jack connect, or in the reaper midi options, I don't see their.

this is my lsusb and my aconnect -i & aconnect -o:

Hi,
I experience the same. I have an USB-to-MIDI adapter, on which I want to connect my e-drum to the reaper.

home/remixer# lsusb
Bus 002 Device 006: ID 1a86:752d QinHeng Electronics <--- this is my MIDI-to-USB
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0781:5566 SanDisk Corp.
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 046d:c050 Logitech, Inc. RX 250 Optical Mouse
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
-----------------
/home/remixer# cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xfbf00000 irq 54
2 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xfb080000 irq 16
3 [USB20MIDI ]: USB-Audio - USB2.0-MIDI <-- this is my MIDI-to-USB
USB2.0-MIDI at usb-0000:00:1d.0-1.2, full speed
-----------------
/home/remixer# aconnect -i
client 0: 'System' [type=kernel]
0 'Timer '
1 'Announce '
client 14: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
0 'Midi Through Port-0'
-----------------
home/remixer# cat /dev/midi3
-0-@-6-@-)-@--@-!-@--@--@- -@-"-@^C

this output shows that on midi 3 I get the correct input (the code was changing when I was hitting the drums).

From this point on I'm lost. I cannot persuade JACK and WineASIO to use my MIDI as input.

Sad
I try to update the alsa, but the problem is still present.

I use Ubuntu Studio 12.04 for now, but the Reaper installation is complicated...(for now!) Razz

I hope in a solution, because Remix_Os is wonderful distro!

What I have found out is that there is no snd_seq_midi modul in the kernel. I tried to boot to Ubuntu Studio, it found my midi automatically, and I was able to dump with aseqdump. And the snd_seq_midi module was loaded. Is there a module like this in Remix OS? I don't want to try to compile a kernel myself, because surely I will ruin it... but I don't want to use Ubuntu Studio, I like Remix OS much better!
